However, they do require batteries that will eventually get worn out and will need to be replaced. If your Volvo key fob has begun to fail, it's a good sign that the battery is depleted and will need to be replaced soon.

There are simple steps that you can follow to replace your volvo V70 key key fob battery at your own expense. First, you must locate a clean work surface to perform the procedure. Lay out all the tools you require. Find the battery hatch, and ensure that it is set to "open." Use a flathead screwdriver, coin, or any other similar tool to make the hatch wide. Next, carefully pry the battery from its socket by lifting it up on the side closest to the key-ring loop. Use rubber gloves to protect the electronic contact surfaces.

Insert the new battery into the socket after the older one was removed. Make sure the positive side of the battery is facing up and that all clips are in place. Note: Older Volvos use a different type of battery one called the CR2025. CR2025 batteries have a thickness of 7 tenths millimeters less than a CR2032, so you'll need to be extra careful when replacing your battery.
