The Best Robot Vacuum For Pet Hair on Hardwood Floors

A quality robot vacuum can make a big difference in keeping allergens such dust and pet hair under control. There are many models that are not the same.

There are a variety of options to choose from depending on whether you are looking for a vacuum that is pet-specific or a robot that can complement your other vacuum mop for pet hair.

1. Eufy RoboVac Edge G30

The G30 Edge is the newest model in Eufy's line of budget robot vacuum cleaners. It's a shiny black affair with blue and rose-gold accents that look like the design of a smartphone. The Roomba i3+ EVO is a great choice for pet owners. It's great on hard floors, and does a good job of removing debris like pet hair cereal, rice and other small particles. It has issues with carpet however it's still better than other robots in this price range. The Roomba EVO is also very efficient in moving between flooring types. It doesn't get stuck on transitions as older models. The dual multi-surface brushes are flexible and adapt to various flooring types. They also have a tendency to not tangle pet hair.

The i3+ EVO's obstacle avoidance isn't as strong as the other robots we tested and it repeatedably ran into objects in our tests, such as handbags, shoes, and pet toys before continuing its course. It also had issues with coarse kosher sea salt which it did a whirlwind of instead of taking it up.

The i3+ EVO includes a number of great features to make it worth the additional cost over other Roomba models, including a self-emptying dustbin and advanced control via the app. It is possible to plan cleaning times, set custom routines, and even create no-go zones for areas you don't want the robot to be allowed to enter. Its smart scheduling will even suggest additional cleanings during allergy seasons and according to the routine you follow. The vacuum does a great job of picking up pet hair on carpeting. However it's not as much power as our top selections.

However, the Roborock S4 Max is better constructed, requires less time to recharge than the Shark, and provides a wider range of scheduling and automation features, including support for zones that are not allowed to be used. Shark is still a great choice if you want something less expensive or prefer to manage and control your system using your smartphone instead of using a remote.

5. Bissell SpinWave Wet and Dry

This robot can do mopping and vacuuming. Its two-tank system can effectively vacuum or mop at the touch of the button. In our tests it was able to effortlessly switch between surfaces and was great at picking up pet fur from carpets and hardwood floors. It also has an edge-sweeping tool that can remove hair from baseboards and walls.

It was able to navigate obstacles with ease during our testing and can be controlled with an app or voice. It has a large dustbin to collect messes before they're full. It can take it up to 166 minutes to finish its job however, it is more efficient than other robots we have test.
