It's more expensive than our other picks but our tester said that it was worth it because it's sturdy and able to handle even the most difficult outings.

Three-wheelers are a great option for a lightweight all terrain pram stroller that can still handle some more difficult terrain. The Thule Shine was a previous winner of this category. It's a little more expensive than our other choices but it's solid and has plenty of features (car seat compatibility! dual cup holders!) This makes it a worthy purchase. Plus, it folds small enough to fit inside an overhead bin of an airplane which makes it a great choice for families who travel a lot.

The BOB Sport Utility

The BOB Sport Utility is the perfect stroller for parents who want to go off the beaten track and exercise. This jogging stroller features pneumatic knobby tires that are ideal for trail runs, and hand brakes that let you manage the downhills. It also boasts a state-of-the-art suspension system with a two-step folding system and a huge cargo basket. It can also be used with a car seat for your infant if you buy the right adapters.

The main drawback of this stroller for jogging is its weight and folded size. It weighs 25 pounds and folds to 17,850 cubic inches which is average for this group. Its size makes it unsuitable for tight turns and small trunk spaces. However, it has small handles on the back of the storage bin that can be pulled to fold the stroller into a compact flat position.

Despite its size, this stroller is still easy to maneuver. The front wheel is equipped with a locking mechanism that allows you to change between locked and normal mode. The handlebar can be adjusted for different parent heights. It has a large seat that can be retracted to almost flat and an enormous vinyl peekaboo window.

The Sport Utility also scored a 9/10 for its outstanding quality. It has a strong frame made of aluminum with tight connections, smooth edges and no sloppy stitching. It also has adjustable dampers, that help in the smooth rolling performance.

The Sport Utility stroller, like the other BOBs we've reviewed has optional car seat adapters. This lets you use it with a variety of car seats for infants. In our tests, it took around 5:24 minutes to put together the stroller from unpacking it to being ready to go. The assembly was straightforward however, you'll require a Philips screwdriver. The manual included is easy to follow and well-organized, but it's still recommended to keep one on hand just in case.

The Baby Trend Expedition

Designed with safety, style and ease of use in mind, this jogger features an adult tray with two cup holders, a covered storage and a swing away tray for children that has two cup holders. The adjustable canopy, with its peek-a-boo windows and a wide ergonomically-designed handle, provide comfort for both parents. The front wheel lockable can be unlocked when strolling and locked for jogging. The large storage basket can accommodate essential travel items.

In the Strollers test program at Consumer Reports, the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger does well in general for the price and is rated higher than its competition in several categories. The 5-point harness, folding, unfolding backrest, adjusting the backrest, braking the wheel and infant car seat installation and removal (only compatible models) are all included. It has a simple design and a one-handed recline that is deep enough for napping. However the canopy cover, which ratchets, isn't always easy to secure. It takes about 8 minutes to put it in place. The instructions are confusing, with multiple languages mixed in with difficult-to-read illustrations.

The only negative about this jogger is that it does not have suspension, so the ride may be bumpier than some of the other strollers that we've tested. This could be uncomfortable for children who are younger, especially if their nap is about to start. The air-filled wheels are great, however they don't offer as much cushioning as rubber tires on higher-end strollers.

This is a great choice for those who don't exercise frequently but would like to easily move over grass or gravel without having to worry about obstructions like curbs or other obstacles. It is also a great option for families who have little space, since it folds into a relatively compact size. It's lighter than many of the other joggers we've tested and can fit into places where larger strollers can't.

It is also easier to lift and move than the heavier joggers we've test. This is crucial when you have to lift it into and out of your trunk frequently or if you're constantly in motion.

The Nipper Sport V4

If you're looking to find the most effective jogger that can handle all terrains and conditions, you should look no further than the Nipper Sport V4. The latest version of Out 'n' About's three-wheeled running stroller has been specifically designed for jogging and comes with large pneumatic 16'' alloy tyres that can tackle even the roughest paths and tracks. The Nipper is also lightweight and compact, making it easy to fold and carry.

This pushchair comes with an adjustable handlebar and front suspension, making it perfect for all types of terrain. It comes with an adjustable quilted liner that can be removed and a multi-position recline, along with a 5-point safety harness that is padded and a hinged bar. It's also compatible with travel systems that allows you to use it with the Cybex Maxi-Cosi or a Be-Safe infant car seat.

The buggy also features a large front 4 wheel all-terrain pushchair that ensures a smooth ride for the child. This is especially crucial when you are dealing with terrain that is difficult, as it allows the buggy to follow better and glide better over bumps and dips. Nipper Sport is easy to drive and comes with one pedal brake. The handlebar features an ergonomic design and a single-pedal lock brake that can be adjusted to suit your needs. The buggy is easy to fold and has clear step-by-step instructions and pictures in the user manual.

The Nipper Sport is suitable for children up to the age of six months, and can be used with a newborn thanks to its built-in infant insert. It is not recommended to use it on babies older than six months because the harness is not tight enough to secure them safely.

Another problem with this pushchair is its lack of a storage basket underneath the seat. It does have a small grocery pouch to the rear of the seat, but it would not be large enough to accommodate the size of a large bag for changing. It is easy to open and close. Only two hand-holds are required to release the plastic catch on either side of the lower frame. The red handlebar is equipped with a secondary lock that can be retracted using just one hand.
