Slot Missions in Hogwarts

Slot missions can be a great method to get gear, weapons, and more. But they're also hard to do.

Concealed Weapon Slot

The concealed weapon slot is a unique slot that allows you to carry pistols into the course of. The smuggle slot can hold an array of items, ranging from small concussion devices to weapons-grade explosives. These items are secretly stored in hidden locations around the map, and can be recovered at any moment. Smuggled items are different from Agency Pickups or Hidden Stashes that hide small objects hidden in the scenery and objects.

Mission planning is a feature available in episodic missions that lets players unlock different starting locations equipment, smuggled items, and slots ahead of their entry into the map. As players advance through challenges and unlock new Mission Mastery levels, these planning options increase. This gives players the ability to design the perfect mission for each challenge.

Gear Slot

The slots for gear will quickly get full early in the game, which will result in the dreaded message "Your Gear Slots are Full". This message stops Max from acquiring new equipment until the old items are taken away or space has been obtained. The solution is the Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trials which offer more inventory space in exchange for fulfilling challenge missions. Since a lot of these challenges could be not completed and are scattered across the globe, it might take some time to obtain the most inventory slots in the game.

The five Gear Slots of a player can be filled with up to 5 different types of gear, which must be selected in the Gear Selection menu before a Break-In can begin. Each gear item (except the Pistol) will take up one Gear Slot while a set of similar items (like a group of Grenades of the same type) only takes up one Gear Slot.

Agency Pickups

As you advance through the Mission Mastery levels you unlock various agency pickups that are on the map. These locations allow you to keep items that do not fit in your concealed weapon or gear mobile slots, and retrieve them later.

These pickups are especially useful if you need to go through a frisk later in the mission, or if you are carrying a weapon that could otherwise cause suspicion. You are only able to hide one item at a pickup location.

This DLC also includes new security and asset protection contracts to the agency. Contact the receptionist at the agency and stock up on snacks and other items. Then, go to the stated mission marker and identify a mob at the time of arrival.
