Notifications are sent to your smartphone when the refrigerator is closed or opened. You can set up schedules, change the temperature and even set reminders.

SmartThings was a founding member in the Home Connectivity Alliance. This alliance is working on making major home appliances from different manufacturers compatible. In the future you could control your Samsung washer/dryer, Electrolux oven, and LG TV using the same application.

This fridge freezer is among the most modern you can get. It comes with a 21-inch touchscreen integrated into the door, and comes with a variety of clever features. You can access entertainment apps, leave notes for family members (think the size of a notebook that's stuck to the fridge) Check the weather and more, all thanks to Samsung's own voice activation assistant, Bixby.

The touchscreen also allows you to organize your food and recipes, allowing you to add ingredients directly from the recipe app and also see what's in your fridge using internal cameras. This is the second generation of Family Hub fridges and Samsung says it's spent a year perfecting them based on customer feedback.
