The S9's ability to automatically return to its base and empty its dust bin when it is full was an excellent feature. It eliminated the requirement for manual maintenance. The dust bin should last about 30 loads, or about one month or so, and you'll have to replace the filter once every few months (which is actually recommended by iRobot). The iRobot S9+ is not extremely loud when it's operating which makes it a great choice for families with pets or children.
