This includes the thumb turn if there is one. If you cannot measure using the lock in its position, you can take it out of it. It is essential to not have a cylinder that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.

The majority of modern cylinders have been made with anti-drill and bump resistance features built into their design. These are designed to reduce attack chances by forcing the cylinders to turn in a different direction. This can help deflect the attack, and ensure your door is secure.

Certain cylinders are made to resist snapping. This is a more frequent type of attack on cylinders which is where the break line of the lock is attacked using a special tool to break off the front of the cylinder and allow the door to be opened. Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is situated inside the base plate of the door handle. It is a spring-loaded solution to return your multipoint lock handles to their resting position after usage.
