How to Replace an audi replacement key service G28 Engine Speed Sensor

In this video Charles the Humble Mechanic shows how to replace the G28 engine speed sensor. The sensor is located near the edges of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear. It transmits a signal to the ECU via the grey wire (T55/49), then to the tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

1. Engine Speed Sensor

The sensor is located at the edge of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear, the G28 Engine Speed Sensor sends signals to ECU pin T55/49 using an uncolored wire. The ECU then utilizes this information to regulate fuel, timig and boost. It also sends signals to the G5 tachometer inside the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used as a reference for comparing with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu must know when the crankshaft reached TDC and also where the camshaft lies in order to activate the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails when it fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This means that the Crank Shaft is out of line with the Intake Camshaft. It could also indicate an issue with the chain or a jump in the chain link of the upper chain of timing. The code will not appear without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).

It's a bit tricky to test since there are several connector pins, and they all have different functions. The most effective method to test it is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. If the sensor replacement audi key cost is operational, it should read about 1000 ohms. 2. Injectors

Yesterday, when accelerating from highway paytoll at maximum speed I noticed a massive decrease in power. It was as if the engine had run out of gas. Or my injectors were not firing. This morning i pull out the spark plugs. Three were drenched in gazoline, the fourth was dry. When I crank the engine with no sparks i put tissue on top of each injector hole and the 3 that were drenched in gazoline leap out, however the 4th stay shut. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I got zero ohm. I think the issue is in another location.

I also tried to reset PID but without success. The car will start when the G28 is disconnected, Audi Q7 Replacement Key but it is running fine with the G28 plugged in. However, the intermittent misfire problem persists at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even if it is not plugged in, shows temperatures of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar but the actual pressure is zero.

I'm not certain what to do, as i feel i have pretty much eliminated everything else. I'm concerned that i may have missed something. Let me know If you have any suggestions! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 gets a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is similar to the G4 sender and works on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. 4. ECU
