WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader mod Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item, but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. button, which displays a preview of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Item level Upgrade upgraders can be found at many locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items at the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and an issue.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once an upgrade has been completed to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies even if the items are from another set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

Players have a number of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be used to purchase equipment of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade items is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade items process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
