World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For example a weapon that has the upgrade template ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before the component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can be prefixed or a suffix, modifying the name of the equipment to which it is used (for examplefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using fewer Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level using normal methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

The player can get up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even when they're not sure how much it will be improved after the reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it's possible that the item will be obsolete, or even break, if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in many ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 as soon as you can.

You'll often see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values that it can improve a statistic by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Using the Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, and you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but also consider placing them near critical damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to increase the power of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When a player upgrades a piece of equipment it will be replaced with the new item. The same armor will receive a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own bonus. This could be a drawback, as it can cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough tokens to be able to do this. The item will be replaced with an entirely new Best item upgrader that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This is useful for certain items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can waste a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to modify their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and exits water (or does not swim as a dolphin). It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the max roll by a factor of 10. This item is extremely useful in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of a unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader mod upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to go back to its original state, which will force the user to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any bonus it earned such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as any other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or speed of reload). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item upgrader may have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than standard gear. For example they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Players will still have to carry every piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the ingredients for upgrading.
