According to the report Miss Kelly was suffering from a variety of mental health issues, such as bipolar disorder, bulimia and anorexia. She had also been victimized by her husband and was an addict to drugs. Stress, anxiety and depression caused her symptoms to worsen. She was also diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder as well as the schizoaffective disorder.

Elayaperumal claims that Medtronic deliberately did not treat him fairly due to his race and national origin.
