Rep kits are the perfect way to fix your gear until you reach the trailhead to have it fixed professionally. The trick is knowing what to do with it when you require it.

It is essential to have the proper tools on the go when you are in the field. This kit was developed with that in mind and contains all the basic hand tools necessary to repair items in the field. The tools are made of metal and feature the smallest amount of plastic, so they can be used in a variety of ways. The kit includes an open-top canvas coalcracker tools pouch with awl, reamer, twisted, cutting shears, the gimlet (5MM), sinue spools made of wood, a bottle of coalcracker oil and illustrated instructions.

Repair Patches

If you've got a gap or two in your gear, consider adding adhesive patches to your rep kit. These heavy-duty patches feature an ultra-high-performance adhesive that is applied to a durable polyurethane backing that lets a tear heal under pressure. The patches are available in transparent or colored versions. They offer durability against punctures as well as moisture, sunlight as well as extreme temperatures and saltwater.

If your kit isn't stocked with any of the above items, you might want to consider adding a bag of water-proof Aquaseal wader repair sealant. This water-tight glue will adhere to metals and fabrics to create an unbreakable fix. This is ideal for repairs to drysuits and can also be used in the field. Give it a few minutes to allow the glue to turn tacky before pressing the patch into place and avon Pack holding it securely in place.
