The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a good choice if you're looking for an affordable mop and robot vacuum. It's a great mopping capabilities, but is lacking some of the features found in its more expensive sibling.

In tests it was able to eliminate pet hair and dry oats from carpets with a medium pile. It doesn't use LIDAR however, as cheaper models do to locate your home.

1. IRobot Roomba S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the most highly-rated robots. It has a lot of features and impressive cleaning power, such as a dirt compartment that is built into the base of charging. The robot will learn your cleaning habits, and suggest automatic schedules that will give you an effortless cleaning experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once the system is set up you can begin the automated cleaning with a single button click. You can choose the general clean option, which prioritizes the removal of larger pieces of debris like rice and cereal. Or you can select two detailed mappings to ensure that the entire home is cleaned thoroughly.

This robot vacuum is effective on both bare floors and carpets with low pile. It can remove pet hair and sucks big objects up. It doesn't lose suction as quickly as other robot vacuums. It's not the best time with plush or high-pile carpet, but iRobot promises it will get better with the next models.

The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that focuses on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted D-shaped design, which will allow it to be able to swaddle walls and furniture. It's a nice change from the standard hockey puck shape of most robovacs, though we found it to be marginally better than circular models.

iRobot also claims the S9+ has an advanced filtering system that stops tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating within your home. We like the statement, but not enough to justify a higher price.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of a combination of sensors to keep track of your home's layout, and vSLAM technology for mapping the interior. This allows it to avoid obstacles, like stairs and other barriers and to clean up your entire home in the most efficient manner possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and set virtual boundaries so that the robot can determine the areas that require attention.

Roborock Q Revo is a robotic that combines mopping and vacuuming. Its vac settings are just as effective as those on more expensive models and its mopping feature is better still--its spinning pads do a more impressive job of scrubbing floors than a stationary vibration pad.

The only issue is the absence of a second brush to allow for more thorough cleaning. However, it's not a major issue for those who want to own one of the top robots available. The dust tank on the robovac is bigger than most of its competitors, and filling it up takes only two or three cycles, even when you have maximum dirt.

In terms of the mopping device, I was awestruck with its ability to remove hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. Its two lowest mopping settings, which are less powerful than high-powered ones, create minimal noise, meaning you can work or even watch television without getting distracted. It will gently hit furniture or walls, and then move on if it comes across one.

What really makes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to operate almost autonomously with very little need for user intervention. The dock of the robo-vac can be multi-functional and automatically transfers trash into a hidden bin. It also cleans and dries the clean water tank. The app will only notify you when something is wrong for example, a low clean water tank or a vacuuming session that is cancelled due to a full bin.

You can also combine or create rooms to customize the way that Q Revo handles your home. That's a handy feature to have if you have several areas of your home with different flooring materials or there's clutter that must be removed frequently, self vacuum robot like clothes, toys, and books. The robot vacuum was also among the best performers in my test cleaning up debris from both carpets as well as hardwood floors on the first pass. It can even vacuum up wet spills. It has the ability to create detailed floor maps, identify different types of flooring and is among the few that can automatically wash and dry its mop pads. These are nice features but they also make the L10s more of a luxury category. This might make it more expensive than what homeowners would need.
