iRobot Vacuum and Mop Review

Contrary to other robot vacuums, this one isn't afraid to go on the stairs. Like any mop or vacuum, it is susceptible to clogging by particles, like tennis shoes, jewelry, thread, or other loose items.

The iRobot Home App allows you to label rooms and even create zones that are not allowed to enter. It also lets you monitor your mops's progress and battery status.

iRobot Combo j7+

The Combo J7+ is part of iRobot's robot vacuum and mop lineup, combining the robotic cleaner's smart mapping capabilities along with its ability to handle spills. It has the same acoustic sensor that is onboard and iAdapt 2.0 Navigation as the other Roomba models and maps your home seven times faster than previous versions. It also allows you to create Keep Out Zones (for rooms which the robot should not enter) and Clean Zones (for rooms that it should be able to clean).

The j7's most important feature is its robotic arm, which keeps the mop pad locked away when it's not in use and lowers it to deal with carpets or hard floors. The idea is to avoid spraying water on the rug, and the Combo J7+ did well at this during my tests. The robot backed off when it came across a rug and didn't try to go over it, even though I moved the rug several times.

The arm has a 240mL tank that can be easily removed and filled, making it easier to manage than mop pads on other 2-in-1 robots. It is equipped with iRobot PrevisionVision technology to avoid obstacles, which is more advanced than other systems of this kind.

iRobot Combo i5

This multitasker can vacuum and mop with one machine. The mopping is accomplished with a specially designed bin that can accommodate up to 60 days worth of dust. According to iRobot it reduces the amount of dust released into the air. The i5+ is equipped with dual multi-surface rubber brushes and Power-Lifting suction that can tackle dirt and dust as well as pet hair and stains. iRobot is able to recognize household clutter like bags, shoes, cords and toys. It is voice-compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri, and understands around 600 voice commands. This is more than any other 2-in-1 robot.

iRobot Combo j5

This robotic vacuum and mop from iRobot is a great choice for homes that have carpets and hard floors. It uses smart mapping to eliminate obstacles and efficiently clean. It provides a variety of mopping options such as the SmartScrub system to remove difficult stains. Additionally, it is able to create No Mop Zones to ensure that carpets are not getting sucked up. Additionally, its dock automatically refills mopping solutions. The model is more expensive than the previous Roomba Combo J7+ but offers more features.

iRobot Combo i3

The iRobot Combo i3 has been updated from the original Roomba i3. It still comes with a HEPA-filter to trap allergens and the same excellent external dust compartment, but it now supports smart mapping. You can now create no-go zones to stop the vacuum from cleaning these areas repeatedly. The i3 Plus still has a variety of other fantastic features too like its advanced cleaning system that has a 10x power-lifting suction and three-stage cleaning process. It comes with a textured surface to keep dust, pet hair and fingerprints away.

It is able to clean most debris and performs well on unfinished flooring, but did experience issues with pet hair when used on low-pile carpets. It is a great choice with carpets with a high pile and is quieter than its competitors. The i3 is a little more expensive than the Roborock S4 Max but it comes with a self-emptying system that empties the dirtbag, replenishes its water reservoir, and cleans the mop pads.

You can design cleaning schedules using the i3 App. You can also use your voice assistant to control your robot and begin or stop the cleaning. It also tracks the unique layout of your home to offer a customized cleaning routine and schedule. It utilizes the latest mapping sensors to guide you through carpet and hardwood and also learns your routine to maximize performance.

iRobot Combo i2
