If you're looking to save money and don't want a stroller that can double into a car seat carrier, the Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It has a simple, one-step foot brake that's flip flop comfortable.

It's also a breeze to push and feels sturdy when you're navigating kerbs and woodland paths. Plus, it's a dream to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned a reputation as the ultimate stroller that is lightweight, suitable for city dwellers as for jet-setters. This is thanks to its nimble maneuverability and fold which fits in the overhead luggage of an aeroplane. The Xplore has two canopies that are able to rotate from front to back, ensuring adequate sun protection for the entire family. It also has a footwell that's not as deep or large as some wagons, so it might not be comfortable for long-distance trips or napping.

The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy, however, it isn't able to bend like other wagons we tested. It is also more difficult to fold than some of the competition, and it does not secure when folded. It is easy to move however, and it can fit through narrow 28-inch doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents seeking an affordable second stroller for their travels. It earned an eye-catching score in our Strollers & Multiples test for weight and size folded, which means it's very light, compact when folded and easy to lift into a car trunk or closet. It also features an adjustable recline seat that can be adjusted in multiple positions and a cup holder for the parent. Other features of note include 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels and two large hanging storage bags.

It performed better in our push and turn test than many of the strollers we tested, but it is still difficult to maneuver over uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades on it were among the smallest of all strollers we test. They only cover the top single strollers and do not have peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a significantly larger canopy.

It took us under 3 minutes to assemble the Delta using a standard manual. None of the parts required tools. It's missing certain features we believe are essential for a double stroller. These include an extra-large basket, reclining seats and leg rests that can be adjusted.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is the latest model in Maxi-Cosi's range of pushchairs and is advertised as an urban travel system. It is designed to take infants from birth until approximately 3.5 years old, and can be converted into a seat and carrycot with a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats and comes complete with the light Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-in-car base, and a reversible car.

The seat reclines with one hand, and the big shopping basket makes it simple for parents to get their child in and out. The narrow pushchair sailed through everyday bumps and doorways effortlessly.

The front wheels can be locked into forward positions or let them swivel which helps when covering rough terrain. When we walked on the stony path, we allowed them to swivel and it performed well although it did seem a little bumpier than others in our test.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is best known for its 3-wheeled all-terrain strollers for jogging. But they also produce a wide variety of pushchairs that have four wheels. The City Tour 2 is one of their most sought-after models. It is easy to use and folds small enough to fit in a car boot even with the carrycot attached.

It is a bit heavier than the other strollers we test, however the wheels are made of rubber composite, which makes it feel well-built and sturdy. It is easy to maneuver on various terrains and even with two children with shopping bags and other items.

Both the seat and the carrycot come with hoods that are able to be lower to reveal the UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are sturdy and waterproof, in contrast to other hoods for prams that can be blown back into toddlers' faces.

It's not a lot of storage space but it has a large basket deep enough to hold a change bag or plenty of groceries. It can also be used with the Baby Jogger car seat that is suitable for babies who weigh 20 pounds or less (car seat and adapters are sold separately). The City Tour 2 is a ideal choice for those looking to take a stroller with you on the move.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first came onto the scene it stole the hearts of parents across the world. It's an aluminium framed single stroller pushchair that will see you through your baby's early days and beyond. It has a number of stand-out features including the possibility of flipping the seat between parent and world-facing, a large UPF 50+ canopy, a flip out eyeshade, a spacious basket and adjustable handlebar.

The chassis comes with a built-in suspension system which reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are constructed of tough foam and reduce punctures. It was easy to push, and our tester was able to maneuver the car through tight streets.

It folds automatically and locks in just four steps. It can also stand and be rolled around for easier transportation in the trunk of your car or down the stairs at home. It also comes equipped with the option to add a car seat or carrycot using the included adaptors. The brakes have a single convertible stroller action and are colour coded. They also work with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget-friendly pushchair is simple to use and comes with an excellent dual suspension. It folds with one hand and comes with a convenient carrying strap. It's also very light and durable. The seat can be reclined in several positions. It comes with a built-in double breathable mattress that is suitable from birth.

The canopy/seat comes with two big sun visors that can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn’t ideal because it's not as quiet as Velcro, and can cause sleepy babies to wake up.

The Duet is a side-by-side stroller and can be set up to accommodate twins or other siblings (up to 22kg maximum per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and even can be used with carrycots. In twin mode seats, the seats can be set so that they face each other. They can also be positioned to face the parents. This should reduce sibling disputes over who gets seated with dad and mom. It comes with a large gear tray as well as a bottle holder and snack tray. It also has an automatic frame lock and a compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger designed for parents who love to be active. It is one of the lightest single strollers that connect for running that you can purchase for your child. It also features an innovative twist hand brake that's distinct from the lever-type found on competing models.

The seat is comfortable and offers a large area to sit in, but the depth of the seat is less than other joggers that we've tested (it's about 10"). The storage bin is encased with a zipper that keeps things safe. It can hold up to 10lbs, which is enough for the majority of diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with bassinets or infant car seats as it comes, but you can use it right from the start with the purchase of adapters to most seats from brands such as BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It is easy to fold and put together in just 5-10 minutes with no tools. The instruction manual is easy to understand and includes multiple languages.
