Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

Following a series of social media posts hinting at it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally announced its NFT (non fungible token) Project. Dubbed Space Key and created in collaboration with an undisclosed artist It is built on a piece of advanced carbon fiber composite material that was sent to the International Space Station for research purposes.

The latest project, dubbed the Space Key, is a piece created in collaboration with an unknown artist. The NFT is an exclusive piece of digital art that can be obtained by scanning a QR code. The project is limited and will be auctioned off over the coming weeks.

The Space Key is made of a carbon composite material that Lamborghini, in the course of a research project in the year 2019, sent to the International Space Station. When it returned to earth the carbon fiber was then sculpted into this unique artwork. The physical element is inscribed with an NFT serial number which ties to the corresponding digital artwork via a QR code on the back.

For those who aren't in the know, NFTs are distinct identifiers stored on a blockchain ledger, and linked to digital assets such as a video, image or music. This allows owners to guarantee authenticity, scarcity, and trackability of tokens through the internet.

Working with NFT PRO which is a white-label NFT solution for businesses, Lamborghini is taking this unique approach to art to a new level. In the coming weeks Lamborghini will reveal details about the exciting project including the name of the unidentified artist and a timetable for the auction.
