I love how E30s drive (but have only driven one m3 model). That is a lot of power for one of these things and I can’t believe they’re only running a 245mm rear tire and a terrible compound. Everything else might just take some edge off the sound, or change its quality, but not db measure. Curl the end of the tailpipe in or put a cheapie chrome tip on it that curls in. Seriously, most of the noise is traveling along the wall of the pipe. Block it and it bounces back up the pipe to the engine. Dunno if a 2.5" exhaust alone would really be that much quieter. You need more mufflers, either larger ones to replace what you have, or additional glasspacks/resonators.
