The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you're looking for a robot mop and vacuum that's priced in the middle. It provides a fantastic mopping experience but lacks the features that make up its more expensive counterpart.

During testing it was able to take on dust and dry oats on medium-pile carpet and pet hair on hard flooring. It does not use LIDAR, however, like cheaper models do to locate your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the best-rated robots. It is loaded with features and impressive cleaning power, such as a dirt compartment that is built into the base of charging. The robot will learn your habits of cleaning, and suggest automatic schedules to give you a truly hands-free cleaning experience.

It's easy to set up thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once everything is connected, you can start the automated cleaning functions with the click of the button. You can choose the general clean option which focuses on the elimination of larger debris such as rice and cereal. You can also opt for two thorough mappings to ensure that the entire home is completely cleaned.

This robot vacuum performs well on floors that are unfinished and carpets with a low pile. It is able to take large objects and doesn't lose suction as quickly as other models do, and it can even clean up pet hair with ease. It does have a hard time with plush or high-pile carpet, but iRobot says it will improve with future models.

The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that focuses on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt an open-fronted, flat-fronted design, which it hopes will allow it to fit into furniture and walls. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are widely used, but we found it only marginally superior to circular models.

iRobot also claims the S9+ comes with a superior filter system that prevents tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating throughout your home. We think this is a nice statement, but not enough to justify a premium price.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors that remember the layout of your home and vSLAM technology to map your interior. This allows it to avoid obstacles, such as stairs and other barriers, and to clean up your entire home efficiently possible. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and set cleaning times, as well as set up virtual boundary markers, so that it knows to avoid areas that need extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it is about robots that combine mopping and vacuuming the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are just as effective as those found on higher-end models. Its mopping system is better - its spinning pads scrub floors more efficiently than a vibrating pad.

The only drawback is the lack of a second brush for more thorough cleaning. But that's not a big deal for those who want to own one of the best robots available. The dust tank on the robovac is larger than many of its competitors and filling it takes just two or three times, even when you've got the most dirt.

For the mopping device, I was amazed by its ability to remove the tough dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping settings which are less powerful than high-powered modes, produce very little noise, so you can work or watch television without being distracted. It will gently bump into furniture or walls, and move on whenever it comes across one.

The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost completely on its own, with no user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac is multifunctional and will automatically move trash into a hidden bin. It also washes, dries and refills the clean water tank. The app will only inform you when something is not right for example, low water levels or a vacuuming session that is cancelled due to a full bin.

You can also combine or create actual rooms to customize the way that Q Revo manages your home. This feature is helpful if you have different flooring in different areas of your home, or if you need to regularly remove clutter, such as toys, clothes and books. The robo-vac was also one of the top performers in my test and was able to remove debris from both carpets as well as hardwood floors with the first attempt. It can even clean up spills that are wet however I would recommend cleaning them off with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum that has all the features you can want. It has a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with an auto-cleaning base station that automatically empties and washes the mop pads, keeping them germ-free and ready for use again. It also has a sensor system that can detect obstacles better, allowing it to avoid falling onto furniture and other objects.

The most significant improvement over the ECOVACS X1 Deebot is its sleeker, more modern design. This is thanks to Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. While still quite big--it's over two feet tall and deep and weighs nearly four pounds--the robot and its base are much smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.

This model is more efficient than the X1 since it charges faster and can clean up 1,500 square feet in one charge. It also has a larger and more robust dust bin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.

The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that works even when you're at home. It also comes with additional mopping modes as well as an intelligent routing feature that gives it the flexibility to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of simply following a predetermined route.

The Omni Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested because of its mop pads rotating to remove tough stains and a motor that creates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding as well and it increases suction when it senses carpet to ensure it does an excellent job. It has a large rechargeable battery that lasts up to seven days. The mopping feature of the robot is also extremely effective.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a premium model that has a range of features that aren't often found on robots of this price. It has the ability to create detailed floor maps, detect different flooring types and is one of the few robots that automatically wash and dry its mop pads. These features are great, but they also push the L10s into the premium category. This could mean it's more expensive than what homeowners would need.

The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It is tall and slim and has a white-colored finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine features an enormous bumper that shields the furniture and vacuum cleaner as you move around your home. Behind the pane at the front is additional navigation technology with sensors that aid the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top of the vacuum there is a single button which is used as an on/off switch. The button will activate the vacuum. By pressing it again, you can turn it off and Best Robot Vacuum and Mop send it to its base station. The center of the control panel has the circular menu which lets you select cleaning modes, schedules, and preferences. The left and right buttons will open the settings of the app which allow you to customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.

Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technologies to map out your house. This creates a precise floor plan that enables the robot vacuum and mop effectively, without getting stuck in messy areas. The LIDAR also helps the robot mop vacuum combo vacuum recognize and avoid obstacles which is a great feature for households with pets or children.

The L10s Ultra provides solid vacuuming performance, clearing 98.4 percent of debris from our test on the hard floor and removing all but the most stubborn juice stains. Its mops are also quite efficient, clearing 98.4 percent of the debris that was found on our tile, wood, and carpet tests. However, it wasn't as effective in removing sand from the floor or Quaker oats on carpet.
