Cultural Appropriation and French Donkeys

Depending on the species the domestic donkey could be classified as a subspecies within the wild ass, or Homo as a separate species.

'Arse' is an British slang word for a'stupid person however, is it a synonym for "ass"? This is the source of confusion since both are derived from horses, which are a kind of creature. In the USA, the correct term for Dildos/Toys donkeys is "Ass".

The word"arse" originated as an inoffensive term for Dildos/Toys the body part but has since evolved into an unpopular term. In the 19th century, the word 'ass was developed as a variant of arse. Ass is also used in the phrase "to make an ass of oneself that has an association with 'to groan about'. However, there are many threads of meaning from arse that aren't present in the word 'ass'.

Appropriateness in popular Culture

We frequently see instances in which an dominant culture is able to adopt elements from the culture of a minority. This practice, called cultural appropriation, can cause feelings of disdain among members of minority groups. Many Black people are uncomfortable with this behavior, whether it's wearing an Native American headdress to a music festival or wearing blackface for Halloween.

A dominant group can also take elements from minority cultures. However, they can also make use of intellectual property belonging to the minority group. Blackfishing is a prime instance. It is important to keep in mind that people of color have a long history of being marginalized and deprived of rights. For example, when you see a person of color wearing a blackface Halloween costume it is important to consider the history of black people being excluded.
