Best Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

A robot vacuum is the ideal tool to maintain a clean home. It can remove dust, pet hair and other debris from the surface before it causes a bigger problem.

1. iRobot s8

This smart robot mop and vacuum combo is a great option for a wide range of households. It has a great navigation system that includes GPS and laser sensors. Like the latest models from iRobot, the RX2 features dual-sensor mapping technology that uses the LIDAR sensor to map out a room and two 3D scanning cameras to detect and avoid obstacles (like furniture legs or pet waste) in real-time. Once the room has been defined and assigned, you can designate virtual no-go areas and sections that you would like to be the robot. You can also start cleaning manually or change the cleaning mode, watch a live feed from the onboard cameras, and more on the main screen.

The RX2 is equipped with excellent sensors that can detect furniture and other obstructions immediately. And its sweeping and suction power are top of the line, picking up surface litter from medium-pile carpeting and embedded dust on floors that are unfinished. It's not the fastest robot available. It's not the best climber, and it has problems with metal threshold transition strips.

It also has more advanced automation features than most competitors, including the ability to set virtual boundary markers with its mobile app. It's a powerful robot vacuum, even if its app is a bit sluggish and the 980's wheels spin out when rolling over cables.

We love the 980 due to its iAdapt2.0 navigation sensors as well as visual simultaneity mapping and localisation (or vSLAM), to memorise the floor plan of your home.
