World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The item upgrade lets players boost the gear rating of an item by up 700 points, and then add a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you decide to take them to the Kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For example an excellently roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and aren't worth the effort.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally some weapons come with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon is present on a unit. In some instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon is able to upgrade by itself.

The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For example an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons also reroll the stats of their base. While this is generally an excellent thing, it can have some negative effects as well. In the case of items that are only used in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance), upgrading them may render them useless unless you get a fortunate roll.

Items of armor can also be upgraded to improve their effectiveness. This can increase the base defense of a chest or helm while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor also has an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it can sometimes change its roll to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats it will get when upgraded and their relative values. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon receiving an attack damage of 3. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will be hit 3 times less often because it's an absolute number.

A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button, which is accompanied by arrows that circle in the item menu. The item will be rerolled and change its statistics, but not reset the weapon's levels, or bind it to account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive boosts to poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the more defense you can offer your character, the more health you can receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.

To upgrade item your armor, go to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four of them and each one requires you to complete a unique side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've done the main side quest and mastered the fountain that corresponds you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent upgrade item. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a good-sized group of enemies in most cold climates, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to survive an entire raid with a handful of friends.

You can't upgrade your armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor for physical power or the power of spells. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you wear to fight the final boss and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. Generally speaking, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have some upgrades of the chest armor and helmets that let you stealthy battle some monsters.

Potions

Potions are bottled substances that, if consumed, give the user a temporary status effect. There are five different types of potions, each having specific effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.

Upgrades to potion require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained by making them on a crafting table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion and the item's rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI that allows you to select the potion you would like to upgrade and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP count.

Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the mechanics of potions. For example splash potions now have the duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item upgrader kit). The potion table is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be combined in cauldrons. The same applies to the use of a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will deplete the potion and refill the bottle.

In addition, there are lingering potions that are brewed using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to extend their effect. The potion table is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket can be described as a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It could be a reference to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose, but is not particularly important like a trinket. In some cultures, a trinket can be used to express affection or friendship between family members.

Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons and armor, as well as potions. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets, trinkets can be traded out at any time without losing their stats.

The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.

In general players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries and then other gear items that will not be replaced in the near future (for instance, a ring or cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when selecting which items to upgrade. For instance, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should be focusing on upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and helm.

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl once they're no longer needed and the new trinket will receive an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade is likely to destroy the old trinket until it is salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than purchasing the new one.
