World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The item upgrade lets players boost the gear rating of an item up to 700 points and add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded to increase their stats (like perfect broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats, such as crit chance, attack damage PvE and PvP damage. They also have a flat bonus which increases their damage per second. Additionally some weapons come with an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are present on a single unit. In some cases this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon can sustain on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity as well as its current level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it requires the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.

Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. While this is usually an excellent thing but it can also have negative effects as well. Upgrades can make things inaccessible, unless you're very lucky.

The ability to upgrade armor items to increase their effectiveness. This can increase the defense base of a chest or helm while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may reroll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats it will gain when upgraded, along with their respective values. This means that the weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will strike three times less, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button on the item upgrader mod menu using the arrows that circle. This will roll the item upgrader mod and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level or bind to account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make the world of difference to your survivability. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to poison, curses and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to navigate difficult areas. In general, the greater defense your character has the more value you can get from each point of health therefore it is important to improve your armor as often as you can.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four fountains in all and each one requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and have completed the corresponding fountain, you can then talk to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.

The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor is different. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for instance, can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which allows you to remain competitive in frigid environments with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense, which means you're able to withstand a rout with your comrades.

Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll have to focus on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear for the final boss fight as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have a few upgrades to the helmets and chest armor so that you can sneak around some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, give the player with a temporary effect. There are five different types of potions, each with a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, enhancing their effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.

Upgrades to potion require a certain amount XP. This can be earned by crafting them on a table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the cost of upgrading is dependent on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.

To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens a GUI where you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll yield when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP level.

Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you use it again, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.

Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the way potions are used. Splash potions, for instance are now available with a time of zero, not the 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item. The table for potion is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron drains the potion and refills the bottle.

There are also simmering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. In the same way, a lingering potion can be enhanced by adding redstone. The table of potion ingredients is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added such as the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket can be an ornamental item upgrader that is small, cheap or piece jewelry. It could also refer to an object or ornament that serves a function but is not particularly important, such as a tiny thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket can be used to express affection or friendship between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their status.

The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and in the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with gold, tokens, or fragments from trinkets that are rare.

Upgrading a trinket is an affordable alternative to buying an entirely new one. A player can upgrade a trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl of the old one, and will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

Trinkets can be upgraded when they're no longer needed, allowing a player to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players and are a popular alternative to gold.

In general, players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other gear items that they won't replace in the near future (for example rings or cloaks). When deciding on the items to upgrade, players should be aware of their class's preferred statistics. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers it is recommended that they upgrade their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.

Once they have become useless trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade can cause the trinket to be destroyed until it is saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than purchasing new ones.
