DH 485 is a proprietary communications protocol used by Allen-Bradley in their line of industrial control units. With one sing coaxial cable, both the video data transmission and PTZ Control are achievable. If there are several sensors near and/or other data to be transmitted via GSM, it is more convenient to use Standard / RF versions supported on a concentrator or controller such as RXTXeasy GSM so you will be able to use one single SIM. If on the other hand each terminal can accept only a single cable, a proper branch must be created using three auxiliary terminals for each instrument to be connected. What made it such an advancement over RS232 was the fact that it could transmit not only a single device to device transmission, but also a communications bus to connect multiple devices at once. Grounds between buildings may vary by a small voltage, but with very low impedance and hence the possibility of catastrophic currents - enough to melt signal cables, PCB traces, and transceiver devices. EMS08 is a small temperature sensor used to measure the canopy temperature of a Genset. The small PCB sensor has mounting hole which allows it to be cable tied within the internal airflow of the Generator.

Section 4 defines the electrical characteristics of the generator (transmitter or driver), receiver, transceiver, and system. But we didn't want to do a "closed system". We tried to build an organic system so that whoever gets a TXtemp, TXsoil sensor or a bridge for RS232 or ModBus sensors and devices like TXdata can immediately use them without wasting time in configurations (and we also took the opportunity to insert some things into our system some "extra" not foreseen by the standards!). The probe can be cut to any length from 150mm to 300mm. An RS485 interface with a definable address allows it to be used directly on a modbus network. RS485 is a serial data transmission interface standard that enables communication with sensors attached to the same bus (wires). The Modbus protocol further enables RS485 by allowing a master to send and receive data from specific sensors on the bus or to communicate with all the sensors simultaneously. This cable enables RS485 communication between our EC and MX Smart Sensor boards and development kits and our free GasLab software.

It is interesting to measure the humidity of the ground, but we have also thought about other things; and then we have TXtemp to measure the temperature (one of the uses of TXtemp is in association with SuperClock), and for practically any type of measurement we have TXdata (RS232, RS485 ModBus) - which can be connected to thousands of existing third-party professional RS232 or ModBus meters (and there is something for all needs: temperature and humidity meters, anemometers, voltage meters, energy, light meters, water meters, presence sensors, brightness sensors, soil humidity sensors, etc. ; practically all professional meters are available in ModBus or RS232 standard; and not just meters). Users can utilize a longer cable, up to 1200 meters or 4000 feet. The maximum RS485 cable length is typically listed as 1200 meters or about 4000 feet. The maximum number of devices that can be connected to a main cable is 32, including the Master. A Modbus RS485 connects a Master device to one or more Slave devices. With Modbus, BACnet and Profibus, A/B labeling refers A as the negative green wire and B as the positive red wire, in the definition of the D-sub connector and M12 circular connector, as can be seen in Profibus guides.

The diagram below shows potentials of the A (blue) and B (red) pins of an RS-485 line during transmission of one byte (0xD3, least significant bit first) of data using an asynchronous start-stop method. RS232 could only handle one at a time. RS485 can handle up to 32 connected devices. Think of RS485 as the younger, faster brother of RS232. Just like it’s older brother RS232, RS485 is a form of serial communication. Much like RS232, RS485 doesn’t have an actual standard connector.
