The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

There's a robot for any carpet type, whether it's low-pile or high-pile. These intelligent appliances can navigate your home, suck up dirt and clean under furniture.

Many of them have advanced features, such as mapping, which allows them to navigate around your home and keep track of furniture placement. They can also boost suction power to clear dirtier areas.

iRobot Roomba 694

The Roomba 694 by iRobot is a basic robot vacuum that works well on carpets with a low pile or bare floor. It has a decent suction and can clean all kinds of debris, but it isn't able to handle bigger debris like sand or rice. It is effective in cleaning pet hair, but it isn't as resistant to knots as premium Roomba models such as the j7 and I6.

However, if you wish to change the floor levels on the map, or set no-go zones you'll have to manually reset it to do so, which is somewhat of trouble.

The IQ app provides advanced mapping and automated functions, however it lacks no-go zones. They are only available on iRobot robots. The smart-pathing system of the app permits for better maneuverability and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is efficient however it can be stuck on rug tassels.

In our tests, we discovered that the IQ handled pet hair well. It was able to eliminate the majority of hair on floors that were not bare and a decent amount of rug with a medium pile. It was less effective on shag carpet, where it struggled to reach dirt and dust buried in the fibers. It was able navigate the legs of a chair, tiny spaces as well as the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a bit slower on bare flooring, but it recovered speed and did better than other robots we have tested.

The IQ is a better option than the iRobot Roomba 694 for most applications. It has a larger dustbin and a longer battery life and is better at navigating obstacles. Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S from Eufy isn't the most feature-rich robot vacuum around, but it does offer excellent cleaning power at a low price. The RoboVac 11S is designed for consumers with a tight budget who don't need a complex mapping system, or even an app to control it. The robot is capable of running for more than an hour and includes an remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base, and additional filters.

The 11S is slim and sleek with a tempered glass upper deck that is covered with plastic, which is finished to look like brushed aluminum. It's a nice aesthetic different from Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more utilitarian and industrial.

The eufy11S was successful in our tests of removing larger debris and fine dust from floors. However, it was unable to give high and medium pile carpeting an effective deep clean. The device is prone of bumping into furniture and people along its path. However, it is able detect obstacles using sensors. It ceases and emits a loud ring when it comes across an obstacle. Then, you can manually steer the device around it and restart it.

Another great aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that lets you set the quietest Robot vacuum to automatically adjust its suction power to match the type of floor and level of the mess. The remote control makes it easy to direct the 11S to the desired location.

Single Room Mode is a great alternative if you have a small amount of furniture in the area you'd like to vacuum. The eufy will spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the area it is assigned.

Edge Cleaning is another option that limits the time spent on each surface to just 20 minutes. This will extend battery life. By selecting this option, the eufy will move in a spiral fashion, tackling corners and edges to ensure a clean.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a top mid-priced vacuum cleaner that performs well on carpet. Its performance on carpets with no floor is also impressive. It can remove fine debris like rice with ease and it doesn't suffer from suction performance even as its dirt bin gets full. Its air-sealed, allergy-friendly design capture allergens to keep your family safe. It uses an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying dustbin, which means you won't need to purchase additional filters or a separate bag for your vacuum.

It's not as powerful as the more expensive models, but it's ideal for deep cleaning and tackling stains. Its two front cameras deliver a live image feed on your smartphone, and it has one of the top obstacle avoidance systems we've ever seen. It also comes with a huge dustbin, long runtime and a quick and smooth clean-up.
