Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its stats base or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Usually objects that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas objects with strong bases, such as Eth titans don't change significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or additional effect, when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, retrieved as loot gathered by enemies or obtained from chests and missions. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they are upgraded.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, players will have to select it and click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the necessary element or material required to complete the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be put in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of the item's name. For example the addition of the suffix Glyph could transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades for gathering tools when a player swaps one glyph with a different one, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from previous versions in some key ways. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item upgrader mod can only be upgraded as many times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level up however, the materials needed aren't as high. This lets players focus their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact instead of spreading the upgrade item costs across several items.

This will enable the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It will reset at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to gain affixes which will boost its attributes. The number of affixes available depends on the item's base type. For example an uncommon or exclusive weapon with a base that is standard will only have two affixes, while a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step will require the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the item's current level and the slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item does not reach its max level The NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to another person and then re-infuse the item with another set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours, and costs the same amount of material. However, it has a lower success rate.

Engineers may utilize a level to measure the height of the building with an established location, such as the benchmark. This is known as a "level loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are constructed to a high level of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important part of the game, and it can increase the damage, strength or other characteristics. It is possible to do this through the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item upgrades. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be used in rare cases.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a comparable item. Recyclable items come with an indicator that indicates the amount of upgrade. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.

In the past, certain upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than other items. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns, and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This can be a great or bad thing depending on your needs and requirements from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also be equipped with a special bonus that increases the item's power by a set percentage or flat value. These bonuses are rolled over the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better chances of obtaining an exclusive bonus.

The game also comes with various sets that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on a unit. This is a great method of giving a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the initial stages. This is because rerolling could give players a faster route to a more powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and progress in the game more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized differently. They could be of various sizes, have no elements, or only contain a single element. They can be used for organizing data or sorting information. They can also be useful in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in several ways, including by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides a wide range of upgradeable set items. Certain items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets with high defense values and set bonuses. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in improving stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you already have many armor pieces or weapons.

Set items can be upgraded to include specific tools that are suitable for specific builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to the level of the tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrading lower-level set items can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the item's attributes and the items required to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. For example, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the requirements for upgrading specific items.

In general the jewelry and weapons have more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Especially for weapons that have damage glyphs for spells or weapons and are upgraded to gold is recommended because it will provide a significant increase in their power. The armor that has a new appearance will also benefit from this as its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
